Dart 18 Nationals

Congratulations to the Club for what has been entitled, 'Was this the best Dart 18 Nationals ever?' beautifully penned in an article for Yachts and Yachting.

The professionally run event onshore and around the race circuit makes all your efforts worthwhile with such unprompted praise.

The truncated 6 race event created Stokes Bay National Champions in David Lloyd and Tori Akhurst, the mainsheet trimmer/strategist and helm's left arm, with visitors Dan Norman and Alysian Markiman taking silver plus bronze going to Dave and Louise Roberts.

Dan and Jenny Kilsby were an outstanding sixth with Andy McQueen (another Musto Skiff sailor) in 10th place. Well done to the 14 Club racing boats contributing to a fine entry of 59 Darts with some occasionally completely re rigging offshore in 20 knots; especially our very own 'Banksy/Gerald Scarfe artist and apple varietal cognoscenti', Paul Chatfield, who was leisurely, but constantly pushing his port rudder down whilst enjoying winning a race by 20 boat lengths!!
